VauxHalls latest all-electric SUV, the VX400, is cheaper to buy than any other Ford Focus car ever sold, according to a new study.
The new study by Edmunds.com shows the VZ400 is more expensive to own than the all-new Ford Focus Electric which was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
The VX 400 is also more expensive than the current Ford Fiesta, Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado pickup, the study found.
Edmunds calculated that the VTX400 is about 10 percent cheaper than the Ford Focus Energi, a petrol-powered SUV which has been on sale for the past few years.
The study also found that the average cost of owning a Vaux Hams new SUV was $26,700.
That’s about $2,500 less than the Nissan Frontier, the new all-wheel drive Nissan GT-R, the Toyota Highlander, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda3 and Hyundai Sonata.
However, the car’s battery capacity was about 3.5 times less than those of the Focus Electric, which is a better-rated car than its predecessor, the Ford Fusion.
The Volt battery pack is also less expensive than Ford’s new Ford Focus Hybrid, which starts at $28,200.
The VX4000 was launched last month in Australia and Canada, and will be available in all markets from August 20.
